C is for Cornucopia + Thanksgiving Toddler Craft

I have been working on letter recognition and letter sounds with my 2.5 year old son. Since it is Thanksgiving this week, I wanted to do an activity with that theme. I decided to make a cornucopia. Cornucopia was the perfect word that has a Thanksgiving theme and a hard C sound. So, I remixed this cornucopia to include the letter C instead of the fruits and vegetables.

This activity is a really fun way to see all the “C”s it takes to make this activity.

I drew out the cornucopia on brown cardstock. Draw a circle and extend two stretched Cs to complete the cornucopia shape. After that, draw more Cs to make it look like the basket.

Cut out some C in fall themed colors and have your toddler glue them to the circle.

My toddler was very proud of his work. He practiced letter C recognition, learned a complicated word (cornucopia) and got to use a glue stick.

Supplies List:

  • Brown Cardstock
  • Black crayon
  • Red Cardstock
  • Orange Cardstock
  • Yellow Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Of course, my daughter loves arts and crafts so I made her a cornucopia. She drew out an apple, pumpkin, corn, and other fruits and vegetables and made a cornucopia. She also added real leaves for added artistic fun!

Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving
